Volume Testing

Volume Testing: Can Your Organisation Handle The Real Workload?

Waves crashing on a beach demonstrating a high volume

Volume Testing is the final and most realistic rehearsal before go-live. This step up from the Core End to End Testing assesses whether your whole workforce, infrastructure, and processes can withstand a typical business day using the new ERP system.

Its objectives include:

  • Verifying that trained users can perform their roles accurately
  • Confirming the performance and stability of the system under load
  • Ensuring multiple concurrent processes can function without conflicting
  • Revealing training gaps

To ensure authenticity, use real customers, suppliers and transactions (making sure they cannot escape from your test system). Each department progresses through increasing levels of complexity as confidence grows.

Volume Testing demonstrates that a critical mass of your users can run the business successfully on your new system.

As your ERP project manager, I structure Volume Testing to minimise risk and ensure the organisation is genuinely ready for launch.
